I cannot begin to explain how I seriously get to work with some of the more interesting and brilliant students for their senior photos. Kaitlyn was no different. As I was prepping for her senior session, I was reading through her senior questionnaire, and I found it super interesting that she wants to study entomology in college. That is the study of bugs, so naturally I had to ask more questions once I finally was able to meet Kaitlyn.
Not only does she want to study bugs, but specifically bugs in relation to crime scenes. Now I do now know the technical name for this, maybe a forensics entomologist, but I know that she is going to go on to do and be a part of many pretty incredible things. I loved talking to her about her future bug career because it is so different and so awesome to hear a woman talk about her future career in the scientific realm.
Not only does Kaitlyn have a bright future, but she also made the most of her time in high school by getting involved. As part of her senior photos in Colorado Springs, she decided ti incorporate her tuba since she was a part of the band. I loved that she brought it along, and her parents and I laughed as she would crack jokes about it throughout her session.
It was a joy to work with Kaitlyn, and there is no doubt in my mind that she is now starting off her first semester of college and starting to work towards her dreams. She is determined, kind, and funny and all of these qualities, I am sure, are going to brighten the college campus that she is a part of. I hope that she gets to do some cool things as a forensic entomologist some day!
