Nicolas was one of my favorite seniors to work with because of how chill he was and how he knew exactly what he wanted for a backdrop. This was seriously the first senior session that it was predicted to rain, we still did the session, and it actually rained a bit during the session! And, he didn’t seem to think anything of it. We just walked from spot to spot with the umbrella, waited for the rain to hold up, and then starting shooting again. I actually really loved it!
Nicolas was looking for more colors for some of his photos, so we went to many of the painted walls throughout downtown. We even got out the off camera flash for some more dramatic looks. That is one technique that I am just starting to get into. I primarily call myself a natural light photographer, but the more I learn about flash and the capabilities of it all, the more that I have been enjoying trying it out a bit toward the end of sessions. Nicolas was a trooper as we took several shots with the flash to test out the effects of it. I think that we definitely got the look that he was going for! Check out the very last picture from our session. It is one of my favorites. Wishing Nicolas the very best in the rest of this crazy semester and for everything that the future holds for him.
