Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Ian Senior Session at Garden of the Gods | Rampart High School

When we decided to go to Garden of the Gods for Ian’s senior photos, it was a prefect spot for a little pop of color from the red rocks, the green plants on the ground and the yellow flowers that we found. I really enjoyed meeting Ian, as he was funny, smart and kind. He was a natural at posing, which made it easy to create images that made him look comfortable and true to himself.

Throughout the session, I was able to chat with Ian about his future goals and things that he enjoyed doing in school. He is a runner and is a part of cross-country and track & field. I could easily see him be a leader in these sports through his enthusiastic talk about being a part of the team and his work ethic at working toward his own personal goals in the sport as well.

In addition to talk about what sports he was involved in, he also talked about being a part of the school’s TV production. It was a newscast for the student body of Rampart High School, and his involvement in that has led him to want to pursue a career in television or broadcasting in some way. I think that it is so cool when students dive into clubs and activities that then spark a career interest in them. When talking about movies and the school’s students news, it was fun to see how Ian would light up and smile at the thought of all that he had been a part of. No doubt, he will be go on to do many more amazing things throughout his academics and career.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Eric | Palmer High School

It was so nice to meet Eric for his senior mini session last fall. He wanted some pictures with the fall colors, and we were able to find some beautiful yellows! We also went to a special spot to catch Pikes Peak in the background as the sun was setting. It was a very nice setting for a quick senior session in Colorado Springs.

I also really loved that he brought his camera to his senior session. He is totally into photography and film, and I think that to be able to showcase a passion, something that has helped you develop into the person you are through a sort of expression, is awesome. I hope that as he continues on in his future studies and career that he keeps his curiosity for his passions alive. He is a nice, polite and creative student, that I am sure he will excel in whatever he pursues.

Colorado Springs Senior Photographer | Isabel | Cheyenne Mountain High School

It was such a pleasure to meet with Isabel for her senior portraits. We did a quick mini session, and even in the 20 minutes that we were together, we got many great, beautiful shots. If you are a senior who is on a busy schedule or doesn’t want to the full experience, maybe just a headshot and a couple of other images, a mini session is the right way to go!

I enjoyed chatting with Isabel about getting ready for her senior year and also about her plans for afterwards. She is excited to go into teaching and to work with the little kids. I think she would be great at that with her calm and collected demeanor. She is kind and that is a perfect characteristic for an elementary school teacher. I hope that she has a lovely senior year and that there are many new adventures waiting for her in her future.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Kaitlin Senior Session | Rampart High School | Cheyenne Canyon

I cannot begin to explain how I seriously get to work with some of the more interesting and brilliant students for their senior photos. Kaitlyn was no different. As I was prepping for her senior session, I was reading through her senior questionnaire, and I found it super interesting that she wants to study entomology in college. That is the study of bugs, so naturally I had to ask more questions once I finally was able to meet Kaitlyn.

Not only does she want to study bugs, but specifically bugs in relation to crime scenes. Now I do now know the technical name for this, maybe a forensics entomologist, but I know that she is going to go on to do and be a part of many pretty incredible things. I loved talking to her about her future bug career because it is so different and so awesome to hear a woman talk about her future career in the scientific realm.

Not only does Kaitlyn have a bright future, but she also made the most of her time in high school by getting involved. As part of her senior photos in Colorado Springs, she decided ti incorporate her tuba since she was a part of the band. I loved that she brought it along, and her parents and I laughed as she would crack jokes about it throughout her session.

It was a joy to work with Kaitlyn, and there is no doubt in my mind that she is now starting off her first semester of college and starting to work towards her dreams. She is determined, kind, and funny and all of these qualities, I am sure, are going to brighten the college campus that she is a part of. I hope that she gets to do some cool things as a forensic entomologist some day!

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Lizzy | Aspen Valley High School | Denver Music Venues

To have been able to work with an aspiring photography has been completely awesome. I loved working with Lizzy in her senior photos because we went to Denver and were able to visit all of her favorite places. Not only does she want to work at owning her own photography business, she specifically wants to go into concert photography, thus, the reason we visited a handful of music venues in Denver. This girl knew how to rock it, no pun intended.

Another thing that I loved about Lizzy was talking about photography. She incorporated her camera as part of her session because that is the career path that she is pursuing. Specifically, Lizzy would like to specialize in concert photography, which I think is so cool! Really, her entire Denver senior photo session revolved around her passions and what helped her become her! I love that! When students are secure and confident in who they are and in what brings them joy, it makes it easy to see the joy in their smiles.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Brendan Senior Session | Widefield High School | Fox Run Park

It was so lovely to meet Brendan for his senior pictures at Fox Run Park. He is ambitious, kind, and easy-going, and it was a pleasure to work with him. It was apparent that he has big goals for himself and with his focus and hard work, he would surely reach those goals. He chose to wear his Widefield Varisty jacket and for his second outfit, he had something more casual. It is clear that Brendan is proud of his accomplishments, as he should be, and being a part of so many groups has helped shape him into the person that he is to. Wishing him all the best as he starts his first semester in college and chases all of those wonderful goals.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Kira Senior Session | Liberty High School

Where to start with Kira, it’s so hard to decide because she was such a delight to work with last year. We arranged to go to the Broadmoor for about half the session and then drove the short distance into Cheyenne Canyon. I loved how we had pictures of Kira in her band uniform and her lovely dress. It was the perfect backdrop for a more professional and elegant look.

Kira was the drum major for her high school band, and she was so proud of her position and responsibility within the band. What a great way for her to become a leader and learn how to guide others into excellence. As she moves on to college, I hope that she always holds on to all the lessons that being a part of such a great group, like a high school band, can teach students about working with others, patience, and compassion, which surely Kira already possessed.

Our second set of photos at the Broadmoor Kira chose to wear this beautiful periwinkle and white dress. She looked like a model and she easily played the part as well. She was sweet and fun to work with, as she naturally moved from pose to pose throughout the session. The combination of the water, mountains, and foliage coupled well with her attire and her fun personality.

Our second stop was into Cheyenne Canyon. At the foot of the drive into the actual canyon sits Starsmore Nature Center, and in there we went next to the stream. I loved that Kira also brought her dog to her session. I love it when students bring their pets, there is such a special bond to be had. Kira is a smart, kind, and determined young woman, and I have no doubt that she will go on to accomplish many things in her future. I hope that all of her dreams come true and that she is a part of many great adventures throughout her time beyond high school.

John | Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Widefield High School

John was my first senior student that I had the privilege of working with this season, and he was a fantastic student to start with! I really really enjoyed getting to meet and talk to John, who is a student at Widefield High School. I love how he incorporated his professional side, as well as his athletic side. It’s fun to have students who dress up and look like they are already ready to go into the business world. John was also one of the kindest and sweet seniors that I have worked with.

John went from pose to pose with ease, and I loved it when his natural smile would come through. In talking with John, I learned about his hopes and dreams for the future and how much he cares for his school and friends. I am sure that his senior year will be unforgettable. After school, he is looking to study either accounting or possibly get into Personal Training, both of which I could see him excelling at easily.

I am so glad that John also chose to bring his Varisty jacket with him. I love when students in general incorporate the hobbies, sports, or activities that they are a part of because they often times help to shape the student into the person that they are. For John, this was no different. He attributes much motivation, encouragement, and friendships through him being involved in sports. John is a part of the cross-country, track and field, and wresting teams.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet and work with John. I wish him all the best in his senior year and many new adventures in his future! In his senior questionnaire, he wanted to give a special thanks to his mom, stepdad, and grandparents. There is no doubt that with such a loving support system, that John will go on to do many amazing things and meet many new friends along his journey.

And these are some of my favorite of John - sitting on the picnic table with all of the green foliage around him. It was the perfect day and setting for senior photos, we even got Pikes Peak in some of them!
