Erin | Colorado Springs Senior Session in Cheyenne Canyon

Erin and I met at Starsmore Nature Center at the start of Cheyenne Canyon for her senior session. It was a beautiful backdrop for a beautiful soul of a girl. I was an English major in college, and that is what Erin is planning on studying in college, so of course we instantly connected. She chose the most beautiful outfits for her senior session that caused her eyes to pop out of the image. Blue was definitely a great choice in color, and it was great in complimenting the green of the trees.

Erin was a polite, fun, and kind student to work with, and I wish her all the best in her future adventures. Even more so, I can’t wait for her to publish pieces of her work and share it with the world. I am so happy that she is turning a passion of hers into a career and continue to work toward one of her greatest dreams.

Nicole | Colorado Springs Senior Photographer | Doherty High School | Colorado Fall Colors Senior Session

I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole for her Colorado Springs senior portraits, and she decided to choose a location close to her, basically view from her backyard in her neighborhood. I loved this session, despite the extremely cold weather, and Nicole was a trooper for sticking it out. What you don’t see between the beautiful wardrobe changes and fall backdrops his Nicole wrapped up in blankets. Sometimes on the days when it is cold, we get some of the most gorgeous results, and we will always do our best to make sure you are warm between sets.

I had a really great time chatting with Nicole about her being involved in softball, he plans for the future and just plain getting to know her kind and gentle personality. I can tell that she is a hard worker, values her teammates and teamwork, and is willing to put in the work to reach her goals. No doubt that no matter what she does in her future career and academic studies, she will go far and do well. One of my favorite parts of senior photography is getting to talk to both students and family members that come along. I love seeing parents shine as they talk about their student and how proud they are, but also hearing the student talk about what lights them up and the things that shaped them into the person that they are.

Jessica | Colorado Springs Senior Photography Session at Garden of the Gods Park

I really enjoyed working with Jessica for her senior session. She was quiet but polite and kind. I loved how we were able to capture this in her images to show what a gentle soul she is. With the fairly new dirt parking lot by Rock Ledge Ranch that Garden of the Gods patrons can now park in, we met there and made out way into the park. I love the new trail that has been put in that leads from the big Garden of the Gods park sign at the entrance and curves back into the park. There are some stunning views along that trail, and on the clam, slow fall evening that we met, we didn’t have to worry about many people walking by.

Jessica was a great person to work with in that she was up for posing at each of the spots that we walked to. I love the backdrop and the calm look on her face, especially when we did some of those “look in the distance and think about life” looks. She nailed it every single time. I am so glad that I have had the chance to meet her, and I am wishing her all the best in her future adventures, wherever they may take her.

Sabrina | Colorado Springs senior photographer session at Fox Run Park in Black Forest

It was such a pleasure to work with Sabrina. There were quite a few reasons why I loved this session. I loved how Sabrina had a little bit more flexibility in the yearbook headshot deadline, so we were able to meet at the start of November for her photos. This was the very first senior session where there was snow! And it was glorious. I remember it being a cold day at Fox Run Park for her senior session, but she was a champ, and quite honestly, as we got moving around, it didn’t feel so bad.

Another reason why I loved Sabrina’s session was for the person that she was: kind, compassionate, fun, and smart. It was very cool to hear about all of her accomplishments and things that she would like to do and be in the future. We also had some conversations about our love for Harry Potter and favorite parts of the book/movie series. Seriously, please send all high school Harry Potter fans my way! I can’t believe that she has already started college, but I know that she will excel in whatever career she chooses to pursue. No doubt she will make herself proud through her hard work and gentle demeanor. Wishing Sabrina all the best in her future adventures!

Brenner | Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Rampart High School

It was such a pleasure to work with Brenner for his senior photos. I had worked with his sister in a previous year, and it was fun to reconnect with the family again. This time, in getting to know Brenner during his session, it was fun to talk about his main passion for ROTC. He is a natural leader with a kind and understanding soul. When he talks about his involvement in ROTC and the opportunities that have come about because of it, it is clear that he was made to be a part of a team and be a positive influence on his team.

As he starts to think about college, he is looking into the Air Force Academy but also universities that have a ROTC program so that he can continue to prepare for his future military career. He would like to study something with engineering, which overall will make him very marketable and helpful in his career. Without a doubt, Brenner will be achieving many of his goals and doing it with determination and dignity. I can’t wait for him to complete his senior year and continue on in this journey towards his life-long military career goal.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Jake Senior Session | Pine Creek High School

It was a pleasure to meet Jake for his senior photos. I remember that he had a little bit of a headache that day, but even with the headache on the day of his shoot, he was a trooper to stick through it and he did so good at his session. We went to the Garden of the Gods for his session, and it did not disappoint. Jake was a quiet yet kind and gentle student who loved talking about his involvement with football and how he liked math. He was hoping to go into something like Engineering or something in the STEM field so that he would be able to use his math skills.

He also really loved the sport of football for the bond he had with teammates, being able to show his strength on the field, and for something that kept him involved. He lit up when he talked about football, and he hoped that if the right opportunities come along, that maybe he would be able to play at the college level. No matter what fate came his way for this new school year, I hope that Jake carries with him his leaderships skills that he has learned from playing sports, how to work on a team, and I hope that his love of math is still there as he start this new chapter in his life.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Alicia Senior Session | Cheyenne Canyon | Liberty High School

Meeting with Alicia for her senior photos at Cheyenne Canyon by the natural center was so much fun, and I’m not just saying that. Alicia herself was funny, kind and liked to laugh. I really enjoyed talking with her about her goals of wanting to do something with counseling and when she put on her second outfit (see pictures below), we also bonded on our mutual love for Harry Potter! She was absolutely amazing to work with, and to watch her go from spot to spot during her session with confidence was really cool to be a part of.

I loved her outfit choices because they were completely her. When students ask what they should wear, quite honestly, I want them to feel comfortable with who they are and what they are wearing. Really it should represent them in some way. Sometimes it’s fun to do session when students are completely dressed up and different from what they normally wear, but I loved how Alicia strolled up to her session in her sweatshirt and declared that she wore it because that is what most people are going to remember her wearing. I love that! Wishing her all the best in all of her future endeavors.

Colorado Springs Senior Photography | Emma Senior Session | Widefield High School

Emma’s session was nothing short of magical. She brought her violin with her and came ready to show her true self, which I loved. Emma is a quiet, smart and charming girl, and it was an honor for her to share her talent and plans for her future with me. One of the things that I really loved about Emma was her desire to be totally herself, no matter what others thought of her, and I think that we were able to show her confidence and kindness through her senior photos. She has a calm, welcoming smile, and with her talents and drive to shine as who she is, she will make a wonderful addition to any college that she attends and community that she is a part of.
